For the first few years of my online journey, I felt stuck and unfulfilled. I published my inaugural Medium article in February 2019, and it took nearly two years to gather a modest following of 1,000 readers. It was another two and a half years before I climbed to 8,000 followers. However, since September 2023, my trajectory shifted dramatically:
- My Medium followers skyrocketed from 8,000 to 75,000.
- I boosted my business's monthly revenue from $6,000 to over $15,000.
- My email list expanded from 1,000 to more than 4,000 subscribers.
- I traveled extensively and recently relocated from Melbourne.
So, what changed? I abandoned the pursuit of passive income.

In my business, I offer various services that include:

I manage client work, deliverables, and meetings but limit my workload to 2-3 days weekly. I learned that upfront effort is essential to understand how to provide value, create products, and market my services effectively.
While my work is demanding, I genuinely enjoy the journey. Once I relinquished the pressure to generate passive income immediately, I felt a wave of freedom wash over me. Over time, I anticipate that my income will become more passive.
How will I achieve this?

For the first time, I felt a sense of belonging and encouragement.

- Create content collaboratively and provide feedback.
- Hold each other accountable through weekly calls.
Success becomes a natural outcome when you're surrounded by supportive peers.
Chapter 2: Investing in Yourself
The first video titled "How To Become Wealthy WITHOUT Selling Your Soul" explores the reality of building wealth with integrity. It emphasizes the importance of hard work and dedication, debunking myths around easy money.
The second video, "7 Lazy Ways to Make Money Online Doing Nothing (Passive Income)," discusses various passive income strategies while cautioning against the allure of quick fixes.
I recognized that to truly grow my business, I had to invest in myself. Whether it was hiring a coach, enrolling in courses, or joining communities, every investment multiplied my potential for success. Avoiding investment in your growth leaves you vulnerable to competitors who are willing to learn and improve.
I offered a friend free access to my extensive suite of resources, but he took no action. This experience reinforced my belief that people often undervalue free opportunities. Without a financial commitment, there’s little incentive to take meaningful steps forward. That’s why I don’t offer free digital products; I want to encourage investment and commitment.
Positioning and branding are crucial elements of success. Stop labeling yourself as a freelancer; that title carries connotations of instability and low pay. Instead, embrace the identity of a one-person business owner. This shift in mindset reflects your capability to provide value and achieve results.
