Finding Christ in the Old Testament
Jesus Himself affirmed that we should anticipate encountering Him in the Old Testament. On the road to Emmaus, He stated:
“And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself” (Luke 24:26 NIV).
This indicates that every Old Testament text contains references to Christ. Furthermore, He emphasized that all prophecies in the Psalms must be fulfilled concerning Him (Luke 24:44).
The Significance of "Blessed"
The opening word of Psalm 1:1, "Blessed," encapsulates the essence of our Savior:
“Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers.”
