Title: Reflections on My First Two Weeks as a Writer

Written on

Chapter 1: My Unexpected Journey into Writing

If I could visit my 13-year-old self and tell him that by age 30 he would be engaging in writing, he would likely laugh and dismiss the idea. As a child, I excelled in mathematics, but when English classes intensified in high school, I found little enjoyment in them, which is perhaps reflected in my current writing.

My exploration into writing began as I searched for side hustles, particularly in e-commerce. I encountered a plethora of confusing videos filled with get-rich-quick schemes, many of which led to disappointment and no tangible results. During this search, I discovered blogging and realized it might be an avenue I could pursue, particularly on topics where I have expertise, such as health, fitness, electrical work, sports, and horse racing.

At this point, I have primarily focused on health and fitness content, but I am preparing to branch out into horse racing, as I have created a publication dedicated to that niche. I believe Medium is an excellent platform to share my knowledge for free while potentially reaping some rewards.

In these initial two weeks of writing, I've noticed that the more I write, the more ideas flow to me. It feels as though a creative floodgate opens once I begin to write regularly. For those contemplating starting their writing journey, my advice is simple: just start. You might be surprised at how effortlessly you can write for extended periods.

To my surprise, my earnings have begun to accumulate, totaling a few dollars already, which I didn't anticipate at this early stage. However, I find the earnings system somewhat perplexing; one post with minimal views earned more than another that received significant attention.

Thank you for joining me on this journey and taking the time to read my reflections as I navigate this learning experience. If you have a moment, please clap, follow, and leave a comment. ❤️
