Chapter 1: Embracing Each Day
Every day holds potential, depending on how we choose to perceive it. Start your morning with a positive mindset and envision the opportunities ahead.
I once heard someone say that riding two horses with one butt is impossible—true for most, except for trick riders. However, riding two horses one after the other? That’s a different story, and it’s a skill we can all master.
This is the essence of my productivity as a creative individual and a broker. I wake up early to dedicate time to my creative pursuits, tackle some administrative tasks, and then transition into my advisory role. Sometimes, it can be challenging to stay focused on just one task!
I am still refining my schedule to balance my commitment to helping others with the necessity of spending quality time with friends, family, and indulging in travel. This balance is crucial, as no one reflects on their life wishing they had spent more time working.
To achieve the life you desire, crafting a daily, weekly, or monthly schedule acts as a dynamic personal planner. A realistic schedule is one that you can adhere to consistently.
Chapter 2: The Drive to Help Others
Last week at a conference, a speaker emphasized that his primary motivation for entering this field was to assist others. I resonate with this sentiment deeply.
Having spent over twenty years at Disney, part of my journey was driven by this very purpose. The orientation’s first day, known as "Traditions," signifies that new hires are the next generation of storytellers, entrusted with the brand's legacy.
As a storyteller myself, my passion remains unchanged whether I'm in a recording studio, on stage, authoring a book, or supporting a family in need.
I am inherently driven to help, to engage, and to contribute to a better world. Here’s the not-so-secret truth: this is true for all of us.
Identify what you excel at and what ignites your passion; the intersection of these two will lead you to fulfillment. Dive into these pursuits, and you will discover your unique approach to managing multiple responsibilities.
As you progress, you'll find that balancing these elements becomes increasingly manageable. Remember, you are the architect of your narrative; no one else can convey your story quite like you can. Go out there and share it with the world.
