Chapter 1: Welcome to Episode #184
Greetings, passionate readers and dedicated writers! This is Episode #184, where I've gathered some of my favorite articles along with those nominated by our editors and esteemed readers like you. Below, you'll find links to these selections following a brief overview of our publication's activities, including writer introductions and curation updates.
Today, we proudly welcome several new writers to our team. You can find their profiles linked at the end of this post, making it easy for you to explore their work and extend your support. Our editorial team at ILLUMINATION is eager to onboard them soon.
I've compiled all my previous curated collections in one accessible post, so you can easily revisit them and share them across your social platforms for others to discover.
Chapter 2: Monthly Highlights from ILLUMINATION
In this episode, I’ll provide monthly updates from the ILLUMINATION editorial team, summarizing our accomplishments and future plans for writers, readers, editors, curators, and admin staff.
Despite my efforts, I feel disheartened that interviews with writers receive minimal views. Our volunteer editors invest significant time in introducing new voices to our community, and I hope we can enhance engagement moving forward. Dr. Yildiz shared insightful feedback, and I contributed a lengthy comment as a Friend of Medium (FoM). I genuinely cherish our community.
Chapter 3: Challenges with Visibility
Recently, our editor Mike raised concerns regarding the visibility of some well-crafted stories, possibly due to technical glitches. He emphasized the need for transparency regarding Medium’s policies, particularly concerning cancer-related posts.
We at ILLUMINATION have set the record straight: we cannot adjust the paywall settings for our stories. Dr. Yildiz discussed leveraging both Medium and Substack to expedite audience growth and develop backup strategies for the future.
Section 3.1: The Importance of Newsletters
We are excited to announce our new Substack publication on Medium, where I have the honor of serving as an editor alongside other distinguished ILLUMINATION curators. Several writers have already contributed to this collaborative platform, and I’ve included links to their works as examples to inspire more writers to join our initiative.
Dr. Yildiz has penned an invaluable guide on launching Substack accounts and effectively owning your audience and content.
Section 3.2: Insights from Dr. Yildiz
Dr. Yildiz has shared a comprehensive narrative about aiding new writers on Substack, which could greatly benefit countless authors seeking to find their audience.
Chapter 4: Interviews and New Faces
Among our new contributors, I recently enjoyed an enlightening interview with Matthew Bamberg, an accomplished educator and writer. His experience is truly commendable.
Additionally, I appreciated a recent conversation with Sylvain Zyssman, a data scientist and strategist. You can find more interviews with inspiring writers featured in our collection.
