THE YAKUT OF SIBERIA BELIEVED THE BEAR WAS OMNISCIENT, “HE REMEMBERS EVERYTHING, AND FORGETS NOTHING”.

ON HIS HOLY MOUNTAIN, ZEUS WAS KNOWN AS LYKAION USUALLY TRANSLATED AS ‘WOLF’. IN ACTUALITY, LYKAION MEANS ‘BEAR’. ZEUS APPEARED IN THE FORM OF A BEAR, NOT A WOLF.

THE LABRADOR ESKIMO PEOPLE BELIEVE TONGARSOAK, THE GREAT SPIRIT HIMSELF, APPEARS AS A HUGE WHITE BEAR WHO DEVOURS ANYONE WANTING TO BE ONE WITH HIM.

IN THE BOOK OF HOSEA 13:8 IN THE BIBLE, GOD IS DEPICTED AS A MOTHER BEAR FIERCELY PROTECTING HER CUBS.

IN CHINA, THE URSA MAJOR CONSTELLATION IS REGARDED AS "THE SEAT OF SHANG-DI, THE SUPREME GOD IN CHINESE RELIGION.
